Baking Scones

Last week in H.E we had our first practical and made scones. We were put into groups of four. Aaron, Eva and Luke were in my group. In the previous class we already took down the recipe. We gathered our equipment and ingredients and the got to work. First we got our 3 cups of flour and put it into a bowl. We then added the 1/2 cup of sugar. Meanwhile someone whisked the egg and milk together. Next we put the 3/4 cup of butter into the bowl of flour. We used the rubbing in method to add air into the mixture. We did not top until the mixture resembled breadcrumbs. Then we added the liquid, and mixed until we made a dough. Eva rolled out the dough and then using scone cutter we cut out the shapes. Before putting them in the oven we glazed them with the egg mixture to make them look golden. After 20 minutes we took them out and had a taste. They were lovely.
